Job Title: Risk Officer
Department: Risk Management
Reporting to: General Manager / Risk Committee / Board of Directors
Location: Brokerage Firm – Qatar
To identify, assess, monitor, and manage all types of risks that may affect the company’s operations and strategic objectives. The role ensures the firm’s risk exposure is within acceptable limits, aligned with regulatory requirements, especially those of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA).
Develop and implement the company’s Risk Management Policy, framework, and procedures.
Identify, evaluate, and monitor financial, operational, compliance, market, liquidity, and technology risks.
Prepare and present periodic risk reports to senior management and the Risk Committee.
Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and flag potential breaches of risk limits.
Collaborate with all departments to integrate risk management into day-to-day operations.
Evaluate risk associated with new products, services, or business initiatives.
Liaise with internal/external auditors and regulatory authorities regarding risk matters.
Contribute to the development of the company’s Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plans.
Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the impact of extreme market conditions.
Promote risk awareness and provide necessary training to staff on risk-related topics.
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
– Professional certification in risk management (e.g., FRM, CRM) is preferred.
– Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in risk management, preferably in a brokerage or financial institution.
– Strong knowledge of QFMA regulations and risk governance frameworks.
– Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills
